UCI The Importance of Materiality Landscape & Repetition Project

Materiality, Landscape, & Repetition – In class Discussion and development of the theme for project 1 – create a one page project theme and description for the project and decide where you’d like to perform the work in the courtyard or the nearby surrounding area. Create a three-minute performance and focus on materiality, landscape & repetition based on the primary sourced material discussed and viewed in the class midterms in preparation for this project. Reflect on the themes the artists worked with in their projects, the materials they used, the landscapes or sites they created their work in, and the use of repetition in their performances to underscore their themes. Also as part of this project include a 250 word Artist Statement about your project. This statement will be presented when you perform project.
