UCC Emotions Comprise a Powerful and Important Feedback System Discussion

Your imagination can take you anywhere you would like to go this week. The assignment for this week’s discussion board is to provide an image to support the topic of emotions.

The author from our text states “Though there are many strategies for controlling mood, emotions serve an important function in our lives….”, and

“Emotions comprise a powerful and important feedback system

  • Promote belongingness
  • Communicate social information
  • Rarely cause behavior directly
  • Guide thinking, learning, decisions, and choices”

Assignment: Find an image, add to the discussion post, make up a short story and directly link to a specific topic from the assigned reading. As with all discussion boards, please post and respond to a classmate.

Example:

Yikes…. I ate an entire birthday cake and it wasn’t even my birthday! According to the author, I might be motivated “to do a good act, such as apologizing, make amends, and behavior modification“, or I can blame this on my dog. In all reality, after eating an entire birthday cake, one might feel any number of emotions, including shame, disgust, guilt, or happy!
