  • Your Project will be graded on the following:
  • Length: Minimum of 7 pages of text (doubled spaced, 12 point font)
  • Should be clear section headings
  • Must include the following sections: Introduction, Methods, findings, conclusions
  • What is the issue? Why is it important sociologically?
  • Literature review (minimum of three sources properly cited)
  • Methods( How will you complete this project?)
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  • Paper should be stapled and turned in on time
  • Proper citations should be included and a reference section (must use at least 3 outside sources)
  • Your paper should show that you have thought critically about the issue you are exploring

    • Project suggestions (These are a list of suggestions. Feel free to come up with your own projects as long as you have all the required components)

    Pick a research question and design a survey—give survey to your classmates and analyze

    Conduct a literature review on an issue that interests you

    Pick a social issue relating to race (Black Lives Matter, Dakota Pipeline, etc) and compare the way different news sources report on the issue.

    Pick a historical event or time period and describe the social and political climate on issues of race

    Create a timeline of racist laws and policies and describe

    Pick two schools of differing racial composition and compare them (Each school should have a school report card on their website to help you get attendance, grades, racial composition)

    Interview someone who is a different race or ethnicity

    Minimum of 7 pages
