traditional training methods

When we think of traditional training methods, we automatically think of a classroom. Think about your best classroom-based learning experience and list the things that made it such a good experience. Then think of your worst classroom-based learning experience and list the factors that made it such a bad experience. Discuss why classroom-based training programs (lecture/discussion, roleplay, games, etc.) use so much more than individualized approaches to training?

My high-school computer/typing class was most likely the best classroom learning experience I’ve had.  I always remember our teacher would say, “What time is it?”.  And the class would say, “Time enough to save.”  It really got me in the habit of saving my documents every twenty minutes or so, especially so many years ago when power outages seemed to happen rather often.  We also looked at fellow classmates to check how their fingers lined up on the keyboard, and how many words per minute they could type.  Proper citation techniques were taught, formatting for research papers, and some other computer based skills.  Overall online classroom training programs can also cover many bases with lectures, asynchronous or synchronous communication options, and training programs like MyMathLab.  The nature of the training is individualized based on your own competency for participation and getting homework done.
