This week’s journal, you will be reflecting on your personal recruitment and selection experiences. Address the following in your entry:
Briefly describe the job: What were the main job tasks and KSAOs?
Describe the recruitment process: How did you learn about the position? Which of the six recruitment strategies did you use to find the position (you could have used more than one)? Which search tool was most effective in your opinion? What attracted you to the company or position?
Describe the selection process: What assessments were used during the hiring process? Did you take a battery of assessments all at once (multiple regression approach) or did you take one assessment at a time, progressing through a number of steps (multiple hurdle approach)?
Describe the selection decision: Were you offered a position? If you were not offered a position, did they tell you why and did it make sense? If you were offered a position, did you accept the offer? Why or why not?
Provide an evaluation of the overall selection process: In your opinion, how valid were the assessments you took? Did you feel that the decision is fair? Would you recommend others to apply to this company?
