As you write your journal, I ask that you try to consider the following questions:

What is the central focus and unifying themes of this week’s readings?
What, if anything, stood out to you as particularly compelling or interesting in the readings?
How does each piece contribute to the larger picture being painted of how racism, and its systems, operate in our society?
What are some questions that you had to ask yourself as you read and unpacked the readings?
What solutions, if any, can you imagine to address the problems presented in the pieces?
What major things do you take away from this week’s reading?
Are there any areas in this reading where you can make any meaningful connections to the content being covered in your other classes, your own life, or any current events?
Just as a reminder, you are required to write at least two to three pages, and you are encouraged to focus on or highlight anything that’s particularly relevant and important to you.
