This project requires you to create a short PowerPoint slideshow to answer all of the following questions, and then present your work in front of the class.
Please Know what your project number is, you will need these for question 8.
- First pick your business’s industry. Your group will be the executives of a small company within that industry.
- Assign one of the following roles to each member of your group:
CEO, CFO, and CIO. Based on your titles, what are the main tasks each one of you handles at the company? - List the current IT assets and Capabilities of your company. For example:
- Specify an IT project you plan to implement or integrate to the company in order to improve one or more of the business processes. Explain why is this important to the company.
5. Create a business case example for your company. Here is an example:

6. Create a framework for the work design, using this template:
– Decide what type of sourcing are you using (insource, outsource, offshore, far shore,
nearshore…etc.). Please provide a justification to your decision.
- Will the work be completed by a virtual team or a traditional team? What are some of the challenges the team may face? (refer to table 4.7 on page 92 for help with this).
- This question is related to Chapter 11, which we did not cover in class. But if you knew that in most projects, only two of these elements can be optimized, and the third must be adjusted to maintain balance:
For example, if a project can be finished in a specific amount of time for a specific budget, then the scope must be adjusted accordingly. Or if the project is needed quickly and with a specific scope, then the cost must be adjusted.
Now, if your project number is even, then assume that the project has failed. Explain why, considering the project triangle.
If your project number is odd, then assume that the project was a success. Explain why considering the project triangle.
