Spring 2015 English 101 supplementary writing
Topic
What is your understanding of cultural differences? How is cultural understanding important in your life?
Relate your discussion to personal stories or any other types of evidence. Focus on the development patterns in your essay.
Format
You should write a full essay in which you develop your thesis or main idea, and support it by illustration, explanations, and examples. The essay should be about 750 words. This model will generate an essay of at least four paragraphs; you may, of course, use more than four paragraphs.
Make sure to include a thesis statement in the first or second paragraph of the paper. Remember what we’ve discussed about using citation, summary and paraphrase to avoid plagiarism.
Due
Please include a copy of your essay in the portfolio (April 27, Monday).
Grade
Only if your supplementary writing were rated satisfactory, up to 5 extra credits will be added to your final grade of the semester. In case you missed the format or due date, no extra credit will be granted.
