The University of Utah My Placement Year at the Oman Post Poster

The aim of this assessment is for you to produce a poster highlighting your work and achievements during the placement year. It should be designed to showcase your achievements, the company you worked for or where you studied, and inspire others to follow in your footsteps. 

The assignment is worth 40% of the module grade. 

Descriptive details of the assignment: 

The aim of this assignment is for you to communicate the placement experience in a simple, straightforward and visually attractive manner summarising the key aspects of your placement. Your poster is to be submitted electronically via Blackboard and does not need to be printed. 

The poster should be A1-sized (portrait or landscape, 594 x 841mm). The poster will be entered into a College of Engineering and Physical Sciences competition and winners will be displayed (we will print those selected) and prizes distributed at an employment event in the autumn semester. 

This poster will be assessed and marks allocated for each of the bulleted criteria shown below: 

• Content: it is expected that the poster contains appropriate content, for example: an introduction to the company or overseas institution, a description of the STEM and other skills you have acquired, your role and significant activities you were involved in. The conclusion is a concise summary of the main points covered in the poster. Any image or content sources are suitably referenced where needed.
• Language and images: it is expected that the language is clear, concise and easy to understand. The language is appropriate for the intended audience. There are no spelling or grammatical errors. The images are of good quality, enhance the text and convey useful and correct information.
• Poster design and structure: it is expected that the poster is visually interesting and designed to a high standard. The poster has a clear structure that is easy to follow. The text areas are logically laid out and have clearly defined pieces of information. The poster has been created in the correct format and is the correct size. There is enough information to inform the audience of the topic and not too much to require lengthy reading.
• Note: I have uploaded a poster sample so you can have an idea. Also, I will upload later the writing part. Im only asking for designing a poster with the given info.
