This paper consists of analyzing Carter G. Woodson’s arguments in The Mis-Education of the Negro (1933) regarding the education of African Americans and interpreting them from a 21st century perspective. This paper must include primary and secondary sources and should be a minimum of 5 pages in length, double-spaced, size 10-12 font (Times New Roman) with 1-inch margins. Citations must be in APA or MLA format.
After reading, analyzing, and interpreting each chapter of the text, you should be answer the following questions:
1. What were Woodson’s criticisms concerning the miseducation of African Americans and are they still relevant today?
2. Since its publication more than eighty years ago, what critiques of Woodson regarding the miseducation of African Americans in The Mis-Education of the Negro have improved, what has changed, what has remained the same, and what needs improvement?
3. What implications does Woodson’s critiques have on the current state of African Americans and education?
