Assignment Content

  1. During the first two weeks of this course, you will read the entire book, The Innovator’s Method. This assignment asks you to show your understanding of this framework by recording a short PowerPoint presentation as though you are teaching a coworker about what you learned from this book. Your presentation should cover the four components of The Innovator’s Method (insight, problem, solution, and business model). Include your own real world examples and suggestions for how you might apply The Innovator’s Method.

    Guidelines:
    • Your presentation should be 5-6 minutes in length and consist of at least 8 slides (PowerPoint, Google Slides, etc) not including title and reference slides. Your slides should be eye-pleasing, professional, and concise. Present as though you are teaching a co-worker.
    • Provide citations in APA format for all references used.
    • Use a recording option such as Loom or another video presentation product of your choice.
    • Watch this Introduction to Video Debrief Assignments for an example of how your finished video presentation should look.
    • Present yourself professionally and be aware of your demeanor and appearance, as well as that of your surroundings. Your debrief should be professional and academic.

No matter the tool you use, your recorded presentation must be shareable (do not use Google Drive as share permissions are a frequent issue) and visible. Your recording must include a webcam video of you presenting. After you have recorded your presentation, watch it to ensure it addresses all required elements, and submit the URL of your recording to this assignment in Blackboard. Use the “View/Complete” option to submit shareable/clickable link(s) in the text box. Use the insert files option to upload your presentation. Please compare your work to the grading rubric before submitting it.
