Task 1;

Complete the following for your Week 1 Assignment:

  1. Decide on an IT-related project that you like to work on as your final Portfolio Project.
  2. Research and find a template for your project proposal.
  3. Use APA formatting for citations and references.
  4. Criteria: Complete your project proposal for your project with
  5. title page,
  6. project name,
  7. table of contents,
  8. references, and
  9. detail information about each component listed in your table of content.

Ensure your table of contents includes all the related items for your project proposal.

Points Possible: 50

Task 2:

Complete the following for your Week 2 Assignment:

  1. Research and find a template for documenting your System Requirements Document (SRD).
  2. Prepare a business requirements document (in MS Word), based on your selected project. Include priority “ranking” (Hi, MED, LO) for each requirement.
  3. Include statements of requirements related to business need.
  4. Criteria: Minimum of 3 requirements, but you can include up to 10.
  5. Use APA formatting for citations and references.

Points Possible: 50

Task 3:

Your Week 3 Assignment has two required parts: (1) to make a context diagram, and (2) to create and complete the System Design Specification document for your project.

Part 1 (25 points possible):

  1. Use a tool to make a context diagram, there are tools such as Lucidchart and others in the market for making a diagram.
  2. Develop a Context Diagram for the case system using Lucidchart or another to create the context diagram.
  3. Criteria: Full credit for use of the appropriate shapes, with appropriate labeling on the shapes and the lines.
  4. Take a screenshot of your diagram, and paste it into a Word document.

Part 2 (25 points possible):

  1. Create your project’s System Design Specification document. You may conduct research to find a template, or use a blank Word document.
  2. Criteria: Complete the System Design Specification document for your project.
  3. Include:
  4. title page,
  5. project name,
  6. table of contents,
  7. references, and
  8. detail information about each component listed in your table of contents.
  9. Also include the Context Diagram form Part 1 at the end of your System Design Specification document.

Total Points Possible: 50

Task 4:

Create an alternative decision matrix for the case system. Using Excel or Word, develop a decision matrix to be used to evaluate three proposed design alternatives (alternatives A, B, and C). The idea is to create a worksheet that can be applied to any set of alternatives.

Criteria: Decision matrix has columns for criteria weights and points available, and columns that represent three proposals. Within each proposal include columns for points assigned and the product of points assigned times criteria weight. The bottom row of the matrix contains column totals.

Points Possible: 50

Task 5:

Use Wufoo to develop an input form using some of the key fields from your project. Copy (or take a screenshot of) the design and paste it into Word document with a title page. Provide the resulting URL as well.

Criteria: Design incorporates good choice of colors, text, font, arrangement, and evidence of possible navigation (as in a “submit” button).

Points Possible: 50

Task 6:

The goal of your culminating project presentation is to a) explain your project and your findings, and b) to persuade the board (your classmates) to adopt your project. The presentation assignment consists of the following two parts that must be completed by the end of Week 7:

  1. record a presentation of your project; and
  2. pitch your project to the class.

Step 1: Record a presentation of your project

Create a narrated presentation of your project that is 8-10 minutes in length. Cover the details of your project, how your project improves the current business system, and how to transition to your project. Select a presentation software of your choice to create your narrated presentation. You must have audio and a visual aid in your presentation. I have linked some options that you may choose from, or you may use software that you are familiar with. Please save video files to YouTube, Dropbox, Google Drive, or another cloud storage space that allows you to share a link to your presentation with me. Submit the link of your recorded presentation to me on the appropriate submission page on on before the deadline.

Step 2: Pitch your project to the class

You were able to secure a five minute meeting to pitch your project to an important executive board at your organization. Prepare and record your pitch presentation of your project where your classmates will act as the executive board. Your presentation must be five minutes or less and cannot use slides. Your presentation must highlight how your project could improve the current business system and persuade your audience to adopt your project. You may use the same software used to record your presentation or another one you are familiar with for your pitch. Notice the rubric for the pitch focuses on eye contact with the camera, body language, vocal inflection, tone, etc., as if you were pitching in person. Rehearsal before recording is recommended. Post the link of your recorded pitch to the appropriate discussion thread for feedback from your peers on or before the deadline.

To summarize:
  • To receive full credit for this assignment, you must record both a narrated presentation and an executive board pitch.
  • These must be separate recordings because the links for both of these recordings are submitted to separate locations.
  • All recordings are due by the end of Week 7.

In Week 7, submit the link to your recorded pitch here for grading on or before the deadline. In Week 8, post the link of your recorded pitch to the appropriate discussion thread for feedback from your peers on or before the deadline. The feedback interaction is your Week 8 Discussion. You must post your pitch to see your classmates’ posted pitches.

Task8:

For your Week 8 Assignment, compile all prior weeks’ assignments into a single document. Be sure to make corrections and improve your work based off of my feedback in this final assignment. Then, add the following:

  1. Provide information on how your project could improve the current business system.
  2. State how to transition this project that you are proposing.
  3. Criteria: Your document should address the above items, and may include other items of transition.
  4. Use APA formatting for citations and references.
