The Emergence of Evidenced-Based Policing: The Critical Role of Research on Law Enforcement Practices
You roll play a respected community leader who is seen as a very progressive ‘agent of change’ for the good. Now come up with 5 talking points for your upcoming meeting with your town’s police department. These points must answer the burning question the chief will have about ANY changes you’d like him or her to consider— WHY SHOULD I? Your five points should be compelling reasons why the department should be very open to research driven changes to improve performance and outcomes. Note- you’re not identifying the changes here, that comes later. For now, your job is to get the chief into a ‘tabula rasa’ mode to be ready to listen to specific programmatic changes later on.
