The Columbian Exchange Discussion

1. Read the short document, “Columbian Exchange.docx”>The Columbian Exchange Editsvg icon download download” located in this week’s module.  Then, choose FOUR items exchanged: two animals, and two plants (or, if you wish, substitute one for a disease).  For each item explain the significance and long-term ramifications of the exchange.  Research using your text and reliable internet sources.  Your description does not need to be lengthy.  However, you need to provide sufficient analysis (and thought) and details to support your explanation.

If you need a primer on this topic, consider viewing John Green’s The Columbian Exchange, Crash Course World History #23.  This SHOULD NOT BE USED AS YOUR PRIMARY RESEARCH.  Video available here: The Columbian Exchange: Crash Course World History #23

2. Which people and which geographical areas do you think benefited most from social, technological, and economic change from 1200 to 1500?  Who benefited least?  Why?
