Chapter 3 The Art of Listening; Chapter 13 The twentieth century part III
Chapter 3- The Art of Listening- Using the terms learned in Chapter 2, you will get to begin to use those terms as you listen to music. This will take a considerable amount of practice, so please allow yourself time. I don’t except you to be able to get everything on one hearing- and you should not expect this of yourself. All of the musical examples from the book that I think are useful are provided on Moodle in a link. Actively listen to each one several times, and use the listening guides as a reference to start developing your listening skills. (Active listening is explain in Chapter 3).Chapter 13- The Twentieth Century and Beyond, Part III: Popular Music in the United StatesWe begin by looking at music more familiar to you, and continue to enhance your understanding of the music terms in Chapter 2, and how to actively listen (as discussed in Chapter 3).
