The Art Institute of Tampa Source Elements and Credibility Analysis Paper

FIRST: Our arguments are only as good as our sources. Given this, we have to ensure that our sources are credible, among other things. After reviewing the attached CRAPP testhandout, tell me:

1) how you think sources can either help or hurt your argumentative research paper,

2) why academic journals are considered the “gold standard” of sources, and

3) what is the hardest part about determining source credibility.

SECOND: For this assignment, I want you to write two paragraphs. In the first paragraph, tell me what elements are in just about all citations and why they are there. In the second paragraph, tell me why it is important to cite information (think about credibility, plagiarism, and the research process).

The following link from the Purdue Owl might help you as you answer these questions.

Third:Using what you read and watched in the learning materials for this week, I want you to create an annotated bibliography for 5 potential sources you might use in your upcoming research paper. Make sure you address the questions from annotated bibliography in the Readings folder. I am also attaching a template that I hope will be of great help to you.Remember, the goal of this assignment is to get you thinking about the credibility, viability and reliability of the sources you use, so make sure you are thinking about the rhetorical situation (audience) and how the source will appeal to them and how you plan to use the source in your own argument (evidence, introductory materials, analysis, etc.).
