For this assignment, you will research a text that is not on our syllabus, but which could be. In approximately 1200 to 1500 words, describe the text you have chosen, its historical or cultural significance, and its main ideas or themes.
You should cite the text in your paper, and include it in your list of sources at the end of the paper, and therefore you should have read a little of it.
You should also cite your sources at the end of the paper, in some standard format such as MLA or Chicago. You should cite at least three sources besides the text itself.
While you might start your own research on Wikipedia, the sources you cite should be scholarly ones — encyclopedia entries, magazine or journal articles, books (preferably published by university presses).
