The purpose of an observation paper is for students to build scientific writing skills by reporting their observations while eliminating or reducing personal bias. For this assignment, students will observe a TED Talk (Links to an external site.). Students may choose a TED Talk of their own as long as it is related to course material or view the talk below: Inside the mind of a procrastinator. Once the talk has ended, students will write down their observations of the material and the message the presenter communicated.
Grading of the first observation paper will be based on the proper format, which you should now have honed in the first two assignments, as well as an accurate of summary of the talk. Did the student report observations without personal bias? Did the student integrate key terms and principles from the course?
