I’m working on a research & summaries multi-part question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
A key goal of the Taoist is to abandon the artificial creations of the world and live according to nature, for the Tao is most manifest in nature and natural processes. The problem, of course, is determining what is natural and what is artificial. What is naturally a part of the world and what is artificially created. Reflect over the following list and analyze how or how not each is natural, artificial, or a little of both.
- A mountain
- A cave
- A cave used as shelter
- An igloo
- A log cabin (house)
- A bridge formed from trees falling across a river
- A bridge made of concrete and metal
- A dam built by beavers
- The Hoover Dam
- The university (students, faculty, course work, degree programs, student groups, and more)
- The United States of America
- A $100 bill
- The United States Police, Justice, and Prison System
- Democracy
