SW 361 Cuyamaca Children of Color & Children of No Color Observations

*** If social distancing requirements due to the COVID-19 pandemic are an obstacle, you can find a video online or make up a fictitious example.#1: You are to observe children at play. Your observations should include children of color. You can use a playground at a park, or a McDonald’s, or even go to a formal child care program (see me if you need an introduction letter for the child care director). Observe and note the children’s methods of playing and interacting with each other. Look for gender and age differences, as well as differences between children of color and children not of color. Describe areas of biological, psychological, and social functioning that you observed. In your write-up, discuss what you observed and compare it with what you anticipated based on the theorists we discussed. Indicate any discrepancies between the theorists’ suggestions and the actual behavior of the children. Give a clear description of the group you observe including the number of children, time of day, etc., and the environment in as much detail as needed to give a felt sense of the environmental context in which the children are being observed. For the younger children, it should be morning or later in the afternoon if they nap. Plan carefully and allow for 45 minutes to an hour.

The Observation has to be 3-4 pages and if you put the book reference it will be better if you don’t have it you can put other references. Also, I want you to use the third party in the whole of the observation like (they, them, we). Please write the observation carefully followed the information. This is the book name just in case you have the book and want to use the book reference as well will be great. (Hutchison, E. D. (2019). Dimensions of Human BehaviorThe Changing Life Course. (SitxhEdition) Thousand Oaks, CA: SAGE Publications.) If there is anything else please let me know and I will upload a file of the information.
