Paper (min. 1200 words). This assignment encompasses a reflection of what you’ve learned about yourself in relation to mediation and this course. Students will write a personal review and assessment of individual mediator style, personal strengths and weaknesses, career and personal applications of mediation and conflict resolution theory and plans for additional development. It is not a research paper but a personal reflection as to how theory, doctrinal learning and training impacted individual student learning and development.
How do you write an excellent Reflective Essay? Address the following points, in no particular sequence or structure:
What I learned about my personal communication style (color) and how that style and the associated strengths and weaknesses might impact or “show up” in my legal career.
How I aim to use my strengths and overcome my weaknesses in my professional life (and personal if you would like to include this perspective).
What mediation skills or concepts were most impactful to me and how I anticipate those skills or concepts will impact my professional and/or personal life.
How I see mediation and/or Alternative Dispute Resolution fitting into my future career in the legal field (example: I see myself pursuing mediation as an option for my clients, I eventually want to become a mediator, etc.)
