Writing a Narrative Essay: Plot and Narrative Techniques

In this activity, you will create a preliminary plot of your fictional narrative by detailing the plot elements you will use. Then, you will add specific narrative techniques to add more depth and description. Please refer to what you have learned about creating an air of suspense and mystery in your Gothic Romantic narrative.

You can complete this activity using your word processing software, or write out your work by hand.

Here are your two tasks:

1. Brainstorm information that you will include in each of the five plot elements:
   1. exposition

   3. climax
   4. falling action
   5. resolution
2. Explain what narrative techniques (such as dialogue, ticking clock scenario, description, flashback, pacing, and scene) will work best in each of the five plot elements:
