Stage Models of Development Discussion

Review the variety of stage models of learning. These are models that attempt to define the stages of cognitive development, moral development, faith, grief, identity development, and even the stages of transformative learning. You have likely had opportunities to study or apply some of these models. Perhaps you have implemented other stage-based models in your work. How are your thoughts about the relevance and usefulness of these models? How are they useful? What are the advantages of such models? What are the drawbacks, limits or disadvantages? How can those limits be addressed? This is a wide-open discussion about your thoughts and experience with these models.

3 articles attached + two powerpoints: There are two articles on Transformative Learning that focus on Jack Mezirow, who is considered the original developer of transformative education theory. These articles will take us back in time and outline some of the threads of this theoretical development. The third article for this week is a phenomenological study of transformation. Phenomenology focuses on deep investigations of lived experience.
