Overview: Select a specific sport from the approved list and create a power point presentation about the sport and its “place” in the culture of a country where the sport is popular (the country should not be the USA). The presentation should give an overview of how the sport is played/rules of the game but more importantly the presentation should cover the history, current issues and future of the sport including social, cultural, financial, legal, marketing, and media issues.

- Using Microsoft Power Point create a presentation of 15-20 slides about your sport.
- The presentation should be multimedia in nature.
- Include links to news articles, videos, audio, blogs, pictures, social media examples
- Citations should be used throughout the PPT; Additionally, one slide should include a complete reference list
- NOTE: copy and pasting text from websites is plagiarism and will be reprimanded; be sure to paraphrase, combine information from multiple sources on each slide to demonstrate you understanding of the topic. Include citations on each slide. Points will be deducted if your understanding of the topic is not evident (i.e. your project just consists of copying/pasting information from websites).
- Wikipedia is not a viable source; you may use Wikipedia to start your investigation of the sport, but you should use sites, publications other than wikipedia
- Areas to be covered in your ppt:
- Identify which country(ies) the sport is played (1)
- The history, current status, and future issues for the sport (3)
- Discuss how the sport ‘fits’ into the culture of the country(ies) where it is played (1)
- Discuss marketing and finance systems in place in regards to the sport (2)
- Understand the governance system for the sport within the respective region (2)
- Address the following in depth: legal, media, and ethical issues surrounding the sport (3)
