  • The design of the speech should be appropriate to the audience. You should tailor your choice of devices such as emotional or rational appeals to our class.
  • Your speech should contain examples of many of the rhetorical devices we have studied.
  • Your speech should be 4-5 minutes in length. (This is roughly three pages, typed and double spaced). The speech needs to be well rehearsed, but not memorized.

Citing Sources and Labeling Rhetorical Devices

  • In your footnotes, note a variety of rhetorical devices that you have used in your speech

Final draft should include in-text citations and a properly formatted works cited page
