Teachers of students with physical- and health-related disabilities must balance the teaching of academics with the possibility of medical or health care needs or the use of AAC systems. It is important that teachers consider a student’s functional level when planning instruction to ensure the student gets the most out of a lesson. There is research based on effective instruction of students with physical- and health-related disabilities and content-specific teaching strategies that may be used.
