Purpose
As future social workers, you will encounter clients of all ages with mental health issues in your practices. While access to psychiatric and counseling services may vary from area to area, barriers to care are not just limited to the breadth of community resources. Sometimes, ethnicity, culture, and cultural orientation can play a significant role in clients getting the help they need.
Instructions
- Create an initial post (150-200 word) that addresses the following question and integrates at least one relevant article:
- “What cultural barriers currently exist within the Hispanic community that delay or prevent children from getting access to mental health services they may need?”
- All posts must be well written, include APA in-text citations and references and logically support your discussions. The incorporation of scholarly material must be from within the last 5 years of the publication date and cited correctly.
