The purpose of this assignment is to recognize and develop a needs assessment in response to social, economic and political contexts.
Instructions
Respond to each of the following as you think about the changes you have seen in your own community over the past months in response to the COVID 19 pandemic or other significant event such as a hurricane or wildfire:
- Briefly define/describe needs assessments
- Identify a specific issue in you community for which needs assessment would be important;
- Identify the key stakeholders that would be important to include in such a needs assessment and why;
- After choosing one group of key stakeholders, develop 3 (three) open-ended questions that you would ask that group and why those questions would be important; keep in mind open-ended questions cannot be answered with a simple “yes or no” or a predefined set of option responses.
- What obstacles do you think you might encounter in attempting to gather these responses from the chosen group of stakeholders?
- What ethical or cultural considerations would you need to consider in conducting this needs assessment?
