I’m working on a psychology discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

Activities to Extend Learning from Family Development Credential – Chapter 5 (Claire Forest). Please answer the following questions below. Then provide reflective responses to two peers.

1. If the goal of assessment is to help families, why are many agency’s forms and assessment procedures still focused on using a deficit-oriented (damage model) service delivery model? How does using deficit-oriented assessment forms affect your ability to build a worker-family relationship based on family development?

2. Think of your own family. Please provide an example of your family’s goals, needs, or resources changing over time. Did your family keep this goal, or did your family reorder priorities along the way? If your family re-assessed your goal over time, how did that affect the ultimate outcome? Did your family achieve the goal? If your family reordered priorities and changed your goal, how did this affect your family?

3. Think of a time when someone told someone else something about you or your family without your permission. How did it affect your trust of that person?
