Title Page

Introduction

  • Give a brief overview of the properties and composition of the Sun (Use the lab manual and the textbook chapters 15 and 16 )
  • Discuss the process of fusion, plasma, and how these phenomena produce the features of the Sun that we are able to observe
  • Review differential rotation and why this occurs
  • ~ 1000 words

Results

  • Produce a chart as outlined in the lab manual/googlesheets instructions
  • Since you are analyzing two objects, there should be two sections in the chart.
  • Must be completed in a spreadsheet program
  • The chart must be properly labeled and organized. Use the MLA format.
  • It must be embedded within the text

Discussion

  • Answer the questions at the end of the Solar Rotation Lab Manual. They are not the same as in the Google Sheets.
  • This must be in paragraph form.
  • When completing the discussion use specific data values in order to support your conclusions. An example would be ” I obtained a solar rotation value of 15 days, and the actual solar rotation value at a latitude of 0 degrees is 17 days. From this result I can conclude that I observed differential rotation“. Do not write “Yes, my results were accurate”.
  • If you use an outside references they must be cited. MLA format. No need for outline.
