Social Injustice

These are the Professor’s directions word for word:
Choose a recent event or issue that is of interest to you and a method – feature or news story – of addressing it. To prepare, research the various ways it has been covered on television, on the radio or online. Decide how you wish to portray the event: as an objective observer, as an advocate of one point of view, etc. Adapt the story to local color by adding at least one interview with a member of the Brooklyn College community. The interview could be a “person on the street,” or someone who can offer expertise on your topic. On 9/6, you will present your idea and your choice of interview subject. You’ll also share the three most useful sources you’ve collected. Then write a 3-5:00 script in split page format. It will probably begin with an anchor live in the studio and go on to incorporate a correspondent in the field, the interview, some taped b-roll and other background information, and a live conclusion back in the studio. Upload your script as either an MSWord document or a PDF. Include a list of your research sources (the articles, books and/or websites from which you got your information), and a description of your interview subject (name, age, profession, connection to story). You’ll present this script on 9/13.Your grade will reflect both of your presentations: preparation and completed project.

I have chosen to do this piece on Colin Kaepernick’s job status for the upcoming NFL season and to portray his peaceful protest as something necessary.
this is an article of my interviewee’s experience. She is actually my friend and went through this. Use other sources and articles too because three are necessary. Try and create a short interview with a citizen that opposes the ideas and the other interviewee’s point of view. I have also posted photos of how the professor wants the paper formatted in split page format.
