Several of you posted this topic for the debate. It’s one we often debate in Soc 2.
The debate question will be:
Should abortion be banned?
I’m going to artificially polarize the issue.
Pro will argue YES, it should be banned, no abortion at all, no exceptions. Con will argue NO, it’s always permissible, at any time, under any circumstances. You have to pick one side, just for the debate. Feel free to play devil’s advocate.
The gray area in-between is where you have room for debate. (Remember that, while religious morals are important, they don’t hold weight to some people, so I’d recommend not hinging on it to make your argument. But do what you’d like.)
Please remember our netiquette guidelines, and debate respectfully, kindly, and empathetically. I would encourage you to argue the other side, if you would like. Remember that no one is asking for you to personally state how you feel about this topic, just to pick a side and argue it this one time.
