Perform the following:
- Inspect and palpate the penis.
- Inspect and palpate the scrotum.
- If a mass is found, attempt transillumination.
- Inspect then palpate for inguinal hernia.
- Palpate the inguinal lymph nodes.
- Inspect the anus and perianal area.
- Inspect during the Valsalva maneuver.
- Palpate the anal canal and rectum on every adult.
- Palpate the anal canal and rectum on children only if indicated.
