In Modules One and Two, you learned about hypervisors that run virtual machines. As Collins (2016) describes, the “two most common choices for hypervisors include vSphere, a VMware product, and Hyper-V by Microsoft,” (p. 2). Some professionals in IT perceive that Hyper-V and VMware are in direct competition with one another. They are like Mac versus PC, like Pepsi versus Coke, like Marvel versus DC.
For this week’s discussion, you will pick a side! Are you on team VMware vSphere or are you on team Microsoft Hyper-V?

- Determine which team you want to be on: Which hypervisor do you think is better, VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V?
- Explain why you selected that hypervisor over the other
- Discuss its pros and the factors that helped you make your decision
In your response to your peers, you will represent the other side:
- Explain why you think that the other hypervisor is better than the one your peer has chosen
- Discuss the cons of the hypervisor that your peer discussed
Example: If your peer discussed VMware vSphere, respond by discussing its cons and explaining why you think Microsoft Hyper-V is the team to be on.
