Group Project / Individual Project: “live” case analysis (35%):
In-depth analysis of an industry and firm’s competitive strategies based on the assigned “live” case: The live case project involves a case evaluation. You can carry out this project either individually or as a group. The group project is highly recommended, and there is 5% bounce. However, you can also perform the live case analysis individually, especially the students who have some difficulties doing group projects due to different timezones, access to the internet, full-time jobs, etc. The instructor will assign certain companies to groups and individuals. The assignment is to conduct an in-depth study of the particular industry based on the presented company. This assignment provides you with real-world business problems and more flexibility in order to address the challenges through a team effort or individually. The live case analysis is meant to solidify what you have learned in the course.
At this part, since you have just the name of a company, you need to use the external sources for analyzing the company, defining its main problem, and recommending the appropriate strategic plan. Overall, live case analysis should include strategic analysis and address the following points:
