*Week 5: Journal selection
The educational databases provided by JFL at Liberty are helpful when you are looking for “articles or dissertations” with certain keywords. However, for your journal selection assignment, you should expand your search for a scholarly journal through other means.
The Institute of Education Sciences (IES) is the statistics, research, and evaluation arm of the U.S. Department of Education and provides an extensive list of educational research journals. In the IES webpage linked below, use the search function (Ctrl+F) to look for journal titles with specific keywords of your interest (e.g., leadership, teacher education, special education, rural, urban, mathematics, etc.).
Additionally, some professional organizations publish peer-reviewed journals on broader topics, specific student populations, or subjects. See examples below.
