Assignment Description
Write a letter to yourself about your current situation the world that you’re currently living in. This is more for you than it is the assignment. You are allowed to feel the things you feel, and you are allowed to use this space to express it. If you would like, print it out and save it to be open at a later date (1, 3, 5, 10 years?)
Possible things to cover and reflect on as you’re writing:
- What did you think of it before we were put in a shelter in place?
- Was there a moment when it became “real” to you?
- Who are you currently living with?
- What’s your daily routine? What’s something you do now that you didn’t before?
- After doing remote learning and being in shelter in place for a whole year how has that affected your life? Socially? Academically?
- Not only have we had to endure a pandemic but also numerous other events (BLM movement, wildfires, the election, Stop Asian Hate, other international events and crisis, etc.) so how have they changed or impacted you? What are your thoughts about it?
- What’s something you used to stress out about, but now realized it’s not a priority? What’s something you didn’t realize was a priority?
- Something you learned? Something you’re grateful for? Something you’re looking forward to after this is over?
- What’s something that brings you hope?
- What’s something that you want future you to remember about how current you are feeling?
- Anything else you want to write about to your future self.
Requirements
- Word count should be at least 500 words.
- Date when you wrote it.
- Format like a letter with “Dear…..” “Signed….”
- Be honest with yourself.
