Overview

This week, we’ve been learning about the living primates. In order to better understand the relationships between primates, in this assignment you will draw your own cladogram (taxonomic tree showing evolutionary relationships) of the major primate groups to both solidify and demonstrate your knowledge.

Objectives

  • Explain the relationships between different clades of primates.
  • Describe characteristics of different clades of primates.

Directions

Using Figure 5.11 (shown above) as a guide, draw out a tree showing the major taxonomic group of primates described in your book, making sure to leave room in between each level. Underneath each taxon, list at least two key features specific to each this group, at every level, so that you can compare traits between groups.

You may complete this activity either on paper or electronically, whichever is easiest for you. When you are finished, take a photo or screenshot, or save your electronic document, and upload it here.
