A vertical line and a horizontal line intersect at the point (3,5). What are the equations of the lines?
In order to answer the initial question, you need to know what the equations of a vertical and horizontal line look like. You should have two equations.
1. What is the slope of a horizontal line if it has one? Explain.
2. What is the slope of a vertical line if it has one? Explain.
3. Find the slope of the line passing through the points (1,3) and (4,7).
