My topic is the impacts of COVID-19 on the elderly community (healthcare and food access)
You need to find a minimum of 5 articles or edited book chapters from acceptable scholarly sources (as discussed in class and section) that are relevant to your chosen topic. Avoid using entire books, but if you do find a good book on your topic, make sure that you also find articles to use. You may NOT use textbooks.
The literature review and synthesis will be a written narrative about the existing empirical research on your research topic. For the purposes of this assignment, you need be able to offer a cohesive summary of the research that has already been done on your topic. For this assignment, you will make clear what knowledge each source contributes to your research question of interest, but you will present it in a synthesized form that has a cohesive narrative style.
For guidance, see how authors of scholarly articles that you are using (and/or those assigned in this class) lay out their literature reviews (usually the section following a brief introduction, even if it is not labeled as such). This assignment must use APA (6th or 7th edition) format. PLEASE NOTE: Do not refer to the article as, “The article says…” or “in an article titled XYZ…” or “an article by So and so…” You need to use APA style referencing, which means using the author last names when referring to the work.
Here’s a style sheet that illustrates how these references should be listed, and you will spend time in a later section addressing APA format, in case you have trouble with this citation style.
