1.) Each student is required to write one, double-spaced, 5 full-page Argumentative essay (approximately 1650 words).
2.) The argumentative essay is objective in nature and will only be accepted when written in 3rd person. The topic is to be self-chosen and fully researched (Wikipedia is not an accepted source.).
Topic: child use of technology
Definitive Claim: Children who use technology daily are not developing social skills as they
should be.
3.) Peer-reviewed sources are required. 4 sources are required, 2 of which must be peer-reviewed. Duplication of sources is not allowed. For instance, if sources are Smith, Jorgenson, Whittle, and Jones, students may not quote any single author twice. The entire essay will contain only 4 independent, direct quotes. All in-text citations are required to be cited correctly and correlate to Works Cited page. It is the responsibility of the professor (primary) and each student (secondary) to ensure the correct formatting of citations.
5.) The Final Essay is to be accompanied with a Works Cited page. Final essays are handed in the last day of class, and (without exception) late electronic submissions will not be accepted.
Final essays will not be accepted if not accompanied with a Works Cited page. MLA formatting is mandatory.
