Chapter 16 – Analyzing Data Sets with Pivot Tables, As you read this chapter.
As you read this chapter, the homework is to recreate the following:
- Exhibit 4, 6, 9, 10 through 18
- Figures 8, 10
Please organize your tabs clearly and in order.
Please note the “Get and Transform” functionality may not work using a Mac (as I mentioned in the syllabus). In the business world, PCs are used 99.9% of the time. If you have a PC, get some practice now (maybe borrow one?). If you only have a Mac, try to figure out how to do some of the steps without the Get and Transform functionality (it is possible) and do your best with this homework.
When I was an analyst, I spent many hours working with large data sets, organizing and analyzing these data to make sense of trends and derive important insights. I think this chapter will be very useful for those of you that go to work for medium to large companies that sell products or services. You’ll be glad you learned this stuff :).
