For this first discussion assignment, view the following interview with Stanford University professor Dr. Carol Dweck (Links to an external site.), author of Mindset. In your initial post, share with us what topics you feel you have a fixed mindset about concerning any of the issues raised in the different segments of the discussion and how those issues might relate to the inner workings of HR and public perception. Be sure to note how and why you think you have come to this (or these) perspective(s) and what challenges this might present when it comes to communicating with any issue that might come to you as an HR manager.

Consider how human resources departments are perceived by employees and why and then tie in how the mindsets outlined in the interview with Dr. Dweck might connect to the perception and reality of the goings-on in HR departments. Think about some of the ways in which an HR Manager can curtail any negative ideas about how HR supports both employees and employers with the ideas presented in the video about mindsets.
