San Diego State Notes on Martin Luther Kings I Have a Dream Speech Discussion

Our Socratic discussion, “A Seat at the Table”, will be conducted May 18, 20. You will have to be prepared to engage in a meaningful dialogue with your classmates on the video components that were assigned earlier in the semester – you have the urls for the aforementioned.

Re: Our week long “A Seat at the Table Civil Rights/MLK Socratic Discussion” starts this Tuesday, May 18th and will continue Thursday, May 20th. You must be present for both sessions and must be actively engaged in the discussion in order to receive the full points for the assignment. No partial credit will be given for this assignment. Everyone must be logged onto Zoom at the beginning of each session and must remain in class for the entire session. Everyone must participate in the discussion of each piece. You will be contributing what you gleaned/learned from each piece and how you can relate the content to your experiences as well as today’s events/ culture. Remember that you must view the following as well as take notes for each piece that you will use during our discussion. Please view the pieces in the order they’re listed for maximum continuity:
