In-Class 3 Prompt
Craft an essay (an introductory paragraph, 4 body paragraphs as you see and a conclusion paragraph) to answer the following prompt:
MAKE SURE TO ADD A STRONG THESIS STATEMENT IN THE INTRO AND 3 TOPIC SENTENCES IN THE START OF EVERY BODY PARA ALONG WITH 3 direct examples from the text and it’s explaination
Chapters 5 and 7 of Cloud Atlas (both entitled “An Orison of Sonmi-451”) are presented as an interview transcript between Sonmi-451 and an interviewer from Unanimity which takes place in the corpocacy known as Neo-Seoul. How are the narrative themes and structures presented in these chapters signicant and/or relevant to our own world’s structures in the 21st century? You’re free to discuss any themes/structures you believe are signicant, but some ideas you might consider are: late capitalism, politics/governments, consumer culture, technology, posthumanism, human nature, enslavement/exploitation, truth, revolution, etc.
Each body paragraph should contain at least three direct examples or quotes. Make sure to include a detailed thesis in your introductory paragraph as well as clear and concise topic sentences for each of the body paragraphs.
As always, be careful not to simply summarize what the author has to say or use the question as a springboard for a personal response. Maintain close contact with the specic prompt question and the specic text, and keep in mind the important concepts and guidelines we’ve discussed thus far in class.
Keep in mind that your essay should propose a thesis, be framed with topic sentences, and oer analysis and textual support. Remember that it should be well-organized and grammatically correct. Be sure to save enough time and energy to proofread your essay.
