RU Climate Change on Global Supply Chains Discussion

Since our assignment deals with CVP and Breakeven, for our discussion, let’s focus our attention on one of the other major topics for this week – specifically the Value Chain/Supply Chain.

Here is the discussion: Let’s pretend that a super-transport container ship gets stuck the Suez Canal. I know, what a stretch!!! And its costing “somebody” $9 Billion dollars a day, and there are over 250 ships backed-up and 10% of global commerce is being affected. For this week’s discussion, let us know if you think the company you work for could have been directly or indirectly impacted by this odd situation; or, in your opinion what could be next? In other words, what items in the supply chain, or what logistic bottlenecks are just waiting to cause a major impact on an already crippled global economy!?? Feel free to use the recent Colonial Oil Pipeline situation where they we hacked with a ransom demand…what industry or company might be next to get hacked??
