1. Review SHRM’s Learning Module–It’s More Than Just a Paycheck. There are two parts to complete for this assignment. The two parts include an outline of a plan to communicate relevant total rewards and/or total compensation information to existing and prospective employees, and a deliverable to communicate the plan.

2. Create an outline for a plan to communicate relevant total rewards and/or total compensation information to the existing and/or prospective employees by answering the following questions, providing explanation for why you made those decisions:

a. Is the plan for a real or fictitious company? Fictional Company

b. Who is the audience—existing employees, prospective employees or both? Prospective Company

c. Will you market total rewards, benefits, or total compensation information? YesJust Benefits

d. What is your message? Why?

e. How and when will the organization communicate this information?

f. What form of deliverable have you chosen? Why did you select the format you did?

g. Who in the organization will communicate this information?

3. The second part of the assignment is the deliverable—the actual communication medium itself. For this part of the assignment, you are able to select which option you will complete: Option 1, (as shown below).

This resource should be as clear, concise and professional as possible, with no misspellings, typos or grammatical errors. Be sure to consider the organization’s branding and the format in which other forms of communication are presented at your organization. HR strives to be a partner in its organization, and it needs to uphold the organization’s branding objectives in its communications, too. (Nelson, 2010, p. 7)

a. Option 1: A Summary Sheet. “This communication material is a high-level summary of the benefits package offered” (Nelson, 2010, p. 8), generally in print form.

4. The paper should be 600-800 words in length, and include the following—each with appropriate headings—in the paper:

a. An introduction (or answers to item 3 above)

b. Each completed question in order of the above listing (utilize headings as applicable)

c. A conclusion

d. Appendix (deliverable from item 4 above)

5. Before submitting this assignment, thoroughly edit the written paper for APA formatting and mechanics. Checkmark the instructions of this workshop document and the rubric for this assignment to be sure that your paper has met all requirements.
