2. The authors of our book explain how there are three (3) basic components to the skills of compassion: understanding, accepting, and forgiving. Kristin Neff also stresses the importance of compassion for others and self-compassion as it relates to self-esteem in her video. Select one of the FSI family members and apply these concepts to how you might work with him or her. Type a scenario of you going through the steps of the Compassionate Response (p. 113) with your chosen FSI family member.
Make sure you address the concepts from the book and the video and explain how you used them with the client. Be sure to discuss how you would work with the client regarding their sense of self-worth.
