Choose a song and use it as the basis for an original work that remixes the song into a new format to address an important social issue.

Examples: A graphic novel about mental health that uses Simon and Garfunkel’s 59th Street Bridge Song as captions. A spoken word poem about climate change that uses bits of Marvin Gaye’s Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler) as jump off points. A music video about identity set to Kacey Musgraves’ Follow Your Arrow. A short story about existentialism and privilege built around themes from the Talking Heads’ Once in a Lifetime.

Written works should be a minimum of 5 pages. Audio/Video should be a minimum of 3 minutes.

Please include a 150-200 word reflection on your work and a properly formatted citation for the song.
