I’m working on a religion project and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Option 1: Students can choose to do a timeline of the OT time period (on 3 sheets—8.5” x11”). This assignment will be graded based upon thoroughness, neatness, originality, presentation (e.g., the use of colors), and spelling etc. “A” presentations, as a general rule, go above and beyond and do not just present the bare minimum. “B—D” projects tend to be sparse and lacking detail and color and/or are riddled with typos. You need to include a formatted bibliography (typed on a separate sheet)of all online and hard-copy sources you use. At least three sources, one of which must be the textbook, should be consulted. This assignment is worth 20% of your final grade so evidence of time investment is important. You are expected to include (at a minimum) the following material; (start with Abraham and end with Malachi)1) The major eras/ages of history (Bronze Age to the Persian Period) 2) Major ruling empires and kingdoms (e.g., Egyptian, Assyrian, Hittite, Babylonian, Persian, Israel and Judah). Please note as many of the key ANE rulers as you can who interacted with Israel’s history (e.g., the Assyrian rulers Tiglath pileser III, Sennacherib, Esarhaddon, and Egyptian rulers Pharaoh Necho and Shishak, and Cyrus the Persian etc.) 3) Key characters and events in the OT (e.g., Abraham, Joseph, David, the kings, prophets, etc.) generally accepted dating for these is fine 4) Dates of all the prophets, judges, and kings
